Daily mythology: Date-palm (Phoenix dactylifera)

Alas! I don’t understand Palmish, otherwise here’s, what this tree would possibly have told me: Luckily they planted me here in that Turgutreis’ park, I shall always be watered! Badly I am not in the desert any more – that’s where I belong, I would have pushed my roots in the deep and enjoyed the sands! But since Qaddafi is dead there’s no more planting-programs in the Sahara anyway – they only pray and wait, if god is giving new trees….In the end good overcomes evil: I’ll always have water here – and progress? I couldn’t care less about.
